This article is meant as a guide to the maze of repowering a small (25' to 40') cruising sailboat. Much of it is also applicable to powerboats and larger craft, but it is by no means written to supersede owner's manuals or manufacturer's recommendations. As we mention in the article, there are many ways to skin a cat, and a task as intricate and unique as repowering your sailboat will require all your ingenuity and persistence. You will need to invent, engineer, and modify. If in doubt, get a professional, or at least ask someone who knows what they're talking about. Best of luck.
